Funds raised during
Urban Nature Week will be used for all of CNI's programs, including
the Outreach Discovery Program serving 10,000 underprivileged children, parents and teachers every year.
Children
in the Outreach program attend schools where at least 70% of the students live at or below the federal poverty line
and the school's test scores fall in the bottom 50% of California schools.
The Outreach program
also serves children living in shelters and children with special needs,
including those who are confined to wheelchairs, vision- or hearing-impaired,
or emotionally disturbed.
