Franklin Canyon Park is hidden between Beverly Hills and Studio City. Franklin is a beautiful and secluded valley with a lake and duck pond, and it's near Hollywood, making it a popular filming location. The opening sequence of The Andy Griffith Show, several episodes of the original Star Trek series, scenes from the 1935 classic It Happened One Night and much of the 2006 movie When A Stranger Calls, among many others, were shot in Franklin. The Sooky Goldman Nature Center, open to the public daily, has interactive displays and exhibits about the plants and animals in the park.
