Children who participate in outdoor education programs are more likely to engage in positive environmental behaviors such as recycling

GraphAccording to a 2005 study for the California Department of Education of 6th-graders participating in a week-long outdoor education program, children who participated in the program were more likely to engage in positive “environmental behaviors” (such as separating household garbage for recycling, or closing the fridge door while deciding on something to eat) than those who did not participate, as measured by surveying parents about their children’s behavior.
