Young children in Los Angeles - particularly poor, special needs, inner-city, and/or minority children - are spending six hours each day in front of TV and computer screens but fewer than four minutes a day in unstructured outdoor play with detrimental effects on their academic, social and physical development.
Can you imagine growing up never having seen animals running about in the forest, never taking a deep breath of crisp mountain air or feeling the ocean breeze on your cheeks? That happens to be the unfortunate reality of most of our Outreach Discovery Program students. Their experience with CNI is a first-time, memorable introduction to nature that we hope will inspire a lifetime of wonder.

We still offer each of the program components to non-qualifying schools at a very affordable rate (which are outlined in the side links). Additionally, we work with each of our booking organizations to ensure a customized, spectacular nature experience.
