Get Involved

Get involved...volunteer!  Volunteering for The Children's Nature Institute is fun, educational and rewarding! CNI's programs are made possible by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about introducing children to nature. Come discover and explore natural areas throughout Los Angeles County while sharing your love of nature with young children. Our volunteer opportunities are also a great way to fulfill community service hours for middle school, high school and college students.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Current Docents: Click here to register as a Docent to lead an Outreach Nature Walk.

  • Assist on Nature Walks. No training necessary! Click here to register as an Assistant on our Outreach Nature Walks.

  • Train to Lead Nature Walks as a Docent.  Click here to learn more

  • Volunteer at The Children's Nature Institute office as:

    • A student animal caretaker. This is a great way to learn more about our program animals and share your interest of animals with the community.

    • An administrative volunteer assisting staff with program logistics, special events and fundraisers.

  • Volunteer at Community Outreach Events such as festivals, garden planting and maintenance days. Check our events calendar for the latest community events.
